Designing an Open Platform for Efficient
Pallet Transport Across Multiple Shippers
Yamato’s home delivery service, known as ‘Takkyubin’ in Japan, celebrates 50 years in 2026. Since 2018, Yamato has partnered with Fujitsu to participate in the Japanese government’s Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP), a national initiative led by the Cabinet Office. United by a shared vision for sustainable logistics, the two companies co-developed a smart logistics data platform that integrates logistics and commercial flow. To address industrywide challenges like the “2024 Problem” and CO₂ reduction, Yamato founded Sustainable Shared Transport Inc. (SST) in May 2024 to turn SIP outcomes into real-world solutions. SST launched a shared delivery system using Fujitsu Unified Logistics in February 2025.

- Solution
- SST(Sustainable Shared Transport Inc.) created an open platform for efficient pallet transport, supported by realtime data integration to balance supply and demand.
- Outcome
- Even small loads are now shipped more cost-effectively, lowering overall logistics expenses.
Boosting Load Efficiency in B2B Logistics
SST designed an open platform to efficiently transport palletized cargo from multiple shippers. The goal was to realize a Physical Internet—a system where logistics resources are flexibly shared across shippers and carriers. Fujitsu supported the development of a Shared Delivery utilizing Fujitsu Unified Logistics.
Build a digital platform that integrates logistics and commercial data in realtime to balance supply and demand.
Seamless collaboration covering business design, proof-of-concept (PoC), and continuous business growth assistance.
By evolving the platform into an end-to-end solution, Fujitsu supports SST in shaping new standards for the logistics industry.
