All About You

Office of Purpose

The Office of Purpose (OOP) drives strategy and guides implementation through executive level collaboration across environmental sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion, and social impact – including supplier diversity and First Nations partnerships.

The OOP works with a network of dedicated colleagues in 6 advisory groups, as well as colleagues across Australia and New Zealand, to share ideas, solve challenges and work towards best practice.

Our focus areas and advisory groups are led by passionate and committed volunteers from across our business. They include: Fujitsu Pride, Gender, Disability, Culture and Reconciliation (Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group and the Māori and Pacific Peoples Inclusion Plan Advisory Group), Generational & Veterans and Emergency Response.

Building upon Fujitsu's strong foundation of conducting responsible business with a focus on environmental sustainability, the OOP has now turned its attention to creating greater impact through our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion across all areas of the business.

We aim to create an inclusive culture where diverse people can come together and feel empowered to do great things. I know that when I feel a sense of belonging, I feel comfortable to bring my whole self to work, I am able to perform better and enjoy my work more.

Fujitsu is committed to reviewing gender pay gaps annually. In the past few years, Fujitsu has maintained pay equity with the most recent 2022-23 WGEA compliance reporting showing a relatively small 2% pay gap (average total remuneration) and 5.3% (median base salary) favouring men over women. While this is significantly lower than the industry benchmark of 11.6%, Fujitsu believes that all gender pay gaps are unacceptable. Find out more about our gender gap commitment

Our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Focus Areas

Fujitsu’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy includes six focus areas of gender, age (inter-generational), accessibility and disability, LGBTI+, veterans and emergency responders, and culture and reconciliation. Our business, including the Office of Purpose, collaborate with our internal employee advisory groups to help drive positive outcomes across all focus areas.

Gender

Fujitsu aims to build an inclusive culture that promotes gender equity and empowers everyone to harness their strengths so we can collectively achieve our global purpose.

Inter-generational

Fujitsu’s inter-generational pillar promotes and nurtures connected relationships across multi generations.

Achievements

Accessibility and Disability

The success of our organisation depends upon attracting and retaining talented people, including those living with disabilities and caregivers of people who have a disability.

Strategic plan

Fujitsu will achieve its vision of being an inclusive employer for people living with a disability by creating an environment that has removed all barriers for people to join and fully participate in our workforce.

As a member of the Australian Network on Disability (AND), Fujitsu is performing an access and inclusion self-assessment to determine areas of improvement. We will work with AND to develop a full accessibility action plan including digital inclusion, for our people and partners in both Australia and New Zealand.

Fujitsu recognises the value of having Reservists & Emergency Responders as part of the organisation. Fujitsu provides each eligible employee with leave entitlements, showcasing an appreciation for their contribution to the community.

In 2022, an internal advisory group for veterans and emergency responders was formed. The group’s aim is for Fujitsu to become an employer of choice for veterans and emergency response volunteers, where they can feel valued and are able contribute to the wider Fujitsu community, as well as the public.

Strategic plan

  • Improve the understanding of the contributions veterans and emergency responders have in the community.
  • Create an engaging culture for individuals to thrive and feel supported.
  • Undertake internal reviews to assess whether internal policies address and accommodate issues veterans and emergency responders may have.
