Fujitsu and Dyno Nobel collaborate to make mining operations safer, more efficient and more sustainable

New multi-million-dollar transformation project will modernise technology across 30 locations worldwide, helping Dyno Nobel improve service, free up teams to focus on innovation, and support more sustainable operations

SYDNEY, Australia; [Thu 1 Oct]:

Global digital transformation leader, Fujitsu, is collaborating with Dyno Nobel on a worldwide technology modernisation program to help the global explosives business organisation better serve its customers, strengthen operational resilience, and support more sustainable growth.

Through a multi-million-dollar agreement, Fujitsu will manage and modernise Dyno Nobel’s core technology environment as part of its broader transformation, reducing the time and effort spent maintaining legacy systems. This will enable Dyno Nobel’s greater focus on innovation, safety, and delivering improved customer outcomes across the mining, quarrying, and construction sectors. These industries play a critical role in helping build homes, roads, hospitals, renewable energy projects and other infrastructure that communities rely on every day.

Fujitsu will provide managed services across Dyno Nobel’s hybrid technology environment, including business-critical applications, end user technologies, networks, cyber security, and professional services.
The engagement, led out of Australia, will support Dyno Nobel’s across six continents, including Australia, North America, Canada, Indonesia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, supporting a business that serves customers.

Peter Grassi, Chief Executive Officer of Fujitsu in Oceania, said:

“For many industrial organisations, too much time and energy still go into maintaining complex technology instead of using it to improve performance, safety and sustainability. By taking on the day-to-day management of Dyno Nobel’s technology environment, we can help their teams focus on the work that creates the most value - serving customers, improving operations and driving innovation for the future.”

Cameron Stone, Chief Information Officer of Dyno Nobel, said:

“We chose Fujitsu because they bring the combination we’re looking for - a strong track record in managing complex technology environments, deep expertise across core and emerging technologies, and the ability to deliver end-to-end services at a global scale. Just as importantly, they have approached this as a true partner - taking the time to understand our business, our customers and our long-term priorities, and working with us to design a technology foundation that will support safer, smarter and more sustainable operations into the future.”

A simpler technology foundation for better customer and business outcomes

Many global industrial businesses face the same challenge: their technology environments have grown over time and become expensive and complex to run. That can slow decision-making, reduce agility, and divert skilled people away from higher-value work. This transformation project is intended to change that for Dyno Nobel by creating a more connected, secure and efficient operating environment.
Fujitsu will deliver end-to-end services to help Dyno Nobel operate more efficiently and support its people with more reliable technology, including:

• Digital workplace

Better support for employees through a more responsive service desk and modern tools that make everyday work easier.

Standardising and automating technology processes can reduce complexity, lower delivery costs, and create more predictable investment.

More than 4,700 employees worldwide will have access to more reliable tools, faster support, and simpler ways to resolve common issues.

• Strengthen resilience:

A stronger security and operational foundation can help reduce disruption and better protect critical services.

Internal teams will be able to spend more time on strategic priorities, product and service improvement, and long-term growth.
