Media statement:
Fujitsu signs agreement to sell Australian data centre business to Next Capital
Sydney, Australia, 20 July 2026
Fujitsu confirms it has entered into an agreement for Next Capital to acquire Fujitsu’s Australian data centre business. Completion is expected later this year, subject to customary conditions and approvals. Until completion, Fujitsu will continue to operate the business as usual.
This transaction enables us to further invest in the technology services where customer demand is growing fastest. In Australia, that means helping organisations modernise critical systems, strengthen cyber resilience, adopt sovereign AI, and access the high-performance and quantum computing capabilities needed for their next phase of transformation. The data centre business is a strong platform, and its next phase will benefit from dedicated commercial ownership and investment.
Customer arrangements will transfer to the new business at completion, with the transition managed jointly by Fujitsu and Next Capital. Nothing changes for customers today. The existing data centre employees will transition with the business, helping maintain continuity for customers as the platform moves to independent operation.
Peter Grassi, Chief Executive Officer of Fujitsu in Oceania said:
“This transaction enables us to focus our investment on what we do best: helping customers modernise critical systems, improve cyber resilience and accelerate digital transformation. It also allows us to invest more deeply in emerging technologies such as sovereign AI, high-performance computing and quantum computing. This strengthens our ability to support customers in Australia through their next phase of growth and transformation.”
