Fujitsu success story

Mini Woolies: Supporting young people with disabilities

Location: Australia

Fujitsu has partnered with Woolworths Group to launch the "Mini Woolies" program, designed to provide hands-on learning experiences for young people with disabilities in a safe and comfortable learning environment. These Mini Woolies sites simulate a real supermarket environment, allowing students and participants to develop vital life skills in a supportive setting.

Why it matters

By simulating a typical Woolworths supermarket, Mini Woolies enables students to practice real tasks and shopping activities. Using fully operational registers installed and maintained by Fujitsu, students and participants practice scanning items, enhancing their customer service, communication, money-handling, and organizational skills. This hands-on approach prepares them for life beyond the classroom.

Making a difference

Since its launch in 2018, Mini Woolies has expanded to over 100 locations across Australia and New Zealand, creating safe spaces for students and participants to learn and grow. By building confidence and independence, this initiative is helping young people with disabilities to embrace their potential and prepare for a brighter future. Through the partnership between Fujitsu and Woolworths Group, a positive impact is made in fostering new skills
