Flight information
For booking flights, we recommend choosing Haneda Airport, as it is much closer to downtown Tokyo and easier to reach. Haneda is located just 20 km (13 miles) or a 40-minute car ride away, while Narita Airport is 75 km (47 miles) away and requires an hour and thirty minutes to reach by car. These travel times can vary based on traffic conditions.
Naturally, taking a taxi or other private transportation will cost more if you are flying out from Narita (approximately 15,000 JPY to 30,000 JPY from downtown Tokyo) compared to Haneda (around 8,000 JPY to 15,000 JPY from downtown Tokyo).
Traveling by train is even faster. You can reach Tokyo in just 20-25 minutes with a ticket that costs around 500 JPY to 1,000 JPY, making it the clear winner in terms of accessibility.
