Fujitsu, Fsas Technologies and Schwarz Digits form strategic partnership to advance sovereign digital infrastructure in Europe
The companies will combine their strengths in sovereign cloud, computing and infrastructure, building on their existing collaboration in retail and creating a joint foundation for future AI and IT-infrastructure requirements.
Munich and Bad Friedrichshall, Germany, October 22, 2026
Fujitsu, Fsas Technologies and Schwarz Digits, the IT and digital division of Schwarz Group, today announced a strategic partnership to advance sovereign digital infrastructure in Europe. Building on their existing collaboration in retail, the companies will work together across sovereign cloud, computing and infrastructure, with Schwarz Digits’ cloud STACKIT serving as one component of a broader joint approach.
The partnership brings together Schwarz Digits’ European cloud capabilities with Fujitsu’s technology and industry expertise and Fsas Technologies’ computing infrastructure. It establishes joint governance, proof-of-concepts, technical workstreams and coordinated go-to-market activities, while laying the groundwork to scale sovereign compute capacity and support future AI and IT-infrastructure requirements.
The collaboration supports Fujitsu’s Management Vision 2035 (1*) to create positive social impact and sustainable growth through digital services. By combining complementary capabilities, the partners aim to help European organizations modernize critical environments while retaining control over data, applications and infrastructure.
“Europe needs trusted partnerships that connect sovereign cloud, advanced computing and scalable infrastructure,” said Vivek Mahajan, CTO, Fujitsu. “Together with Schwarz Digits, we are building on our established work in retail through GK Software and giving customers direct access to Fujitsu’s latest innovations, including breakthrough technologies such as the FUJITSU-MONAKA processor. This will enable them to benefit from the next generation of high-performance, energy-efficient computing and create a broader foundation for their digital and AI transformation. This collaboration reflects Fujitsu’s Management Vision: combining technology, industry knowledge and strong partner ecosystems to create lasting value for customers and society.”
Combining sovereign cloud and computing capabilities
The partners will combine complementary capabilities across cloud, computing, data, security and AI. STACKIT provides a European cloud platform focused on security, GDPR compliance and data residency, while Fujitsu and Fsas Technologies contribute technology, industry expertise and infrastructure capabilities for business-critical environments.
Fujitsu Limited, Fsas Technologies and GK Software will use and integrate relevant STACKIT services where they strengthen customer solutions. Beyond cloud access, the partnership is designed to develop sovereign compute and infrastructure options for data-intensive, AI-enabled and mission-critical workloads across Europe.
“Digital sovereignty can only be strengthened through long-term collaboration across the technology value chain,” said Christian Müller, CEO, Schwarz Digits. “By combining our sovereign cloud and digital capabilities with Fujitsu’s and Fsas Technologies’ expertise, we can jointly support customers and create a scalable basis for future growth.”
From established retail collaboration to long-term infrastructure growth
The partnership builds on the companies’ existing cooperation in retail and extends it into a broader strategic framework. Defined governance, joint proof-of-concepts, technical workstreams and coordinated market initiatives will turn complementary capabilities into integrated customer solutions.
The companies will also align annual cloud consumption, compute capacity and hardware investment planning. This will create a scalable foundation for growing AI workloads and future IT-infrastructure requirements.
Key customer benefits include:
- A stronger sovereign technology ecosystem: Customers benefit from combined European cloud, computing and infrastructure capabilities designed to support control, resilience and regulatory requirements.
- Integrated transformation capabilities: The partners will combine cloud, data, security, AI and infrastructure expertise to support business-critical and data-intensive workloads.
- A scalable path to future capacity: Joint planning for cloud consumption, compute capacity and hardware investment helps infrastructure evolve with customer demand and emerging AI requirements.
- A clear path to stronger digital sovereignty: Fujitsu’s advisory services help customers assess sovereignty risks, prioritize practical measures and strengthen control, resilience and regulatory alignment across their digital environments.
