What is AI Ethics and why it matters

For a Sustainable Society

Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming more familiar in society, contributing to a better world, due to the rapid advancement of generative AI technology. On the other hand, concerns about potential human rights violations has led to call for stricter AI regulations.

However, the ethical risks surrounding AI will not disappear simply by adhering to regulations or following procedures. The way AI is used can lead to unforeseen and potentially harmful consequences. Therefore, it is crucial to cultivate a corporate culture that embraces AI Ethics, ensuring that employees and users are fully aware of the risks and countermeasures.

Fujitsu has implemented advanced initiatives in AI governance to promote AI Ethics. Recognizing AI Ethics as a management issue, the CEO and other C-suites are committed to AI Ethics. Moreover, we have implemented various initiatives to link AI governance to corporate governance, such as sharing our efforts to the Board of Directors.

To provide safe, secure and trustworthy AI for the society, it is important for various stakeholders to appropriately practice AI governance. We hope that Fujitsu Group's initiatives will be useful to you.
