Fujitsu's History (Chronology) (1961 - 1970)

May 1962

Established Fujitsu Laboratories as the core of R&D (became independent as Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. in 1968, reintegrated into Fujitsu in 2021)

November 1962

English name is changed to be "Fujitsu Limited"

(Corporate logo 1962-1971)
Enacts the new corporate logo using the current name of Fujitsu.
By starting full-scale computer manufacturing, Fujitsu reformed internal organization. As established the communications division and the computer division as two divisions, the catchphrase "Communications and Electronics" was written above and below the logo.

April 1964

Delivered Japan's first data communications system, FACOM323, to Nikko Securities Co., Ltd.

March 1967

Established New York Representative Office as first office outside Japan

June 1967

Formally changed Japanese name to Fujitsu Kabushiki Kaisha (Fujitsu Limited)

1968

Announced FACOM230-60 which becomes a best seller

November 1968

Implemented Nationwide regional bank online system
